Yellow Portfolio Layout

Step 1

Open a new document 800x800px. Fill the background with #363636. Make a new layer named 'main bg' and make a selection using the Rounded Rectangular Marquee Tool in the middle of the document down a bit and make a gradient from #f1bf18 to #f1801b to #f1bf18 and apply an Outer Glow.



Step 2

Make a new layer named 'links bg' and using the Rounded Rectangular Marquee Tool again make some selections and fill them with #f1bf18 and put this layer under the 'main bg' layer. Add some text for the links, the font that I used was Tahoma, Bold, 12pt, None, #363636.



Step 3

Now we are going to do the text above the 'main bg' layer so make a text layer and type in the site's title, the font that I used was Tahoma, Regular, 36pt, Crisp, #ffffff. The text that is under mine is Tahoma, Bold, 10pt, None, #ffffff, Blend Mode: Soft Light.



Step 4

Make a new layer named 'content bg' and make a selection inside of your 'main bg' layer with a nice margin around the edges. Fill the selection with #ffffff, and lower the opacity to 35%. Add some fill in text and some images and you are done.
