Professional Dark Orange Layout

Step 1

Open up a new document 800x800px and fill the background with #0e0e0e. Create a new layer named 'banner' and make a selection of 800x80px at the top of the document and apply a gradient from #444444 to #1a1a1a.




Step 2

Create a new layer named 'banner underline' and make a selection of 800x5px under the banner, and fill with #ff7506. Create another new layer named 'banner underline shine' and mkae a selection of 800x2px at the top of the 'banner underline' layer and fill with #ffffff, lower the opacity to 40%.




Step 3

Add some text for your banner, the site's name I used the font Myriad Pro, Regular, 24pt, Strong, #ffffff. For the text under the site's name I used Myriad Pro, Regular, 12pt, Strong, #ffffff. On the right hand side add some text links, the font I used was Myriad Pro, Regular, 14pt, Strong, #ffffff.




Step 4

Create a new layer named 'main bg' and using the Rounded Rectangular Tool make a selection in the center of the remaining spare space and fill with #0e0e0e, apply an Outer Glow and a Stroke.




Step 5

Make a new layer named 'content bg' and make a selection in the middle of your 'main bg' layer, leaving a nice margin on all sides. Fill with #161616, zoom in to about 500-600% and make a selection using the Rectangular Marquee Tool 1 px in from the edges and remove the selection from the layer (by hitting delete on your keyboard). Apply an Outer Glow to this layer.




Step 6

Create a new text layer and put 'tutorials »' on the upper right of the 'main bg' layer above the 'content bg' layer. I used the font Myriad Pro, Regular, 18pt, Strong, #ffffff. Now create another text layer, this time in the upper right of the 'content bg' layer, the font I used was Tahoma, Bold (and Regular), 12pt, None, #ff7506. For the fill in text I used Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #dad9da. Create another text layer and put the copyright details down, I used the font Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #ff7506, now duplicate your copyright details layer and apply Edit > Transform > Flip Verticle and put your copied layer under the original one, and lower the opacity to 20%. And we are done :-)
