MiniSite Layout 02

Step 1

Open up a new document 800x800px. Fill the background with #102831. Make a new layer named 'main bg' and make a selection of 450x500px in the middle of your document, and make a gradient from #141f25 to #102831 at the bottom of your selection. Apply an Outer Glow and a Stroke.




Step 2

Make a new layer named 'banner bg', make a selection of 450x120px and set your foreground and background colours to #000000 and #102831, apply Filter > Render > Clouds. Now apply Filter > Brush Strokes > Dark Strokes with Balance: 1, Black Intensity: 1, White Intensity: 1. Set the layer's Blending Mode to Overlay.




Step 3

Create a new layer named 'banner bg shine' and make a selection of 450x80px on the top of the 'banner bg' layer, and fill with #ffffff, lower the opacity to 5%. Add a text layer and lower the opacity to 75% and duplicate that layer and then set the opacity to 50%, now apply Filter > Blur > Motion Blur with the Angle set to 0, and the distance set at 50 pixels.




Step 4

Make a new layer named 'links bg' and make a selection of 450x50px under the banner and fill with #060606. Make another layer named 'links bg shine' and make a selection of 450x30 at the top of the 'links bg' layer and fill with #ffffff, lower the opacity to 2%. Add some text links, I used the font Tschich, Regular, 22pt, Strong, #b9cdd6.




Step 5

Lastly we are just going to add some fill-in text and images, for the content header I used the font Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #f2f2f2. For the main text I used the font Tahoma, Regular, 11pt, None, #b9cdd6. For the Latest Tutorials and Affiliates headers I used the font Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #b9cdd6. And for the copyright text I used Tahoma, Regular (and Bold for the site name), 11pt, None, #ffffff, and set the layer's Blending Mode to Overlay. Add some mock-up images in and you are complete.
