Dragon Signature

Step 1

Open a new document 320x120 (my favourite sig size, you can have it whatever you like). On your background layer, change your foreground and background colours to #b1a89b and #7b6e63, apply Filter > Render > Clouds. Add some grunge brushes around on a new layer named 'brushes' and set the Blending Mode to Overlay.




Step 2

Now insert a dragon render in on a layer named 'render', and adjust the size to fit in nicely by applying Edit > Transform > Scale. Set the Blending Mode to Luminosity, and duplicate the 'render' layer, name the new layer 'render blurred' and put it under the layer 'render'. Apply Render > Blur > Motion Blur, Angle: 0, Distance: 50px.




Step 3

Add some text in, use a couple of different fonts which suite your render, I have chosen Shanghai and Anyong. Now make a new layer named 'stroke', select all and then apply Edit > Stroke, 1px #000000.




Step 4

It's looking a bit boring colourwise at the moment, so we are going to add a Brightness / Contrast and Colour Balance layers.
