Dark Orange Graphics Layout

Step 1

Create a new document 800x800px, fill the background with #111111. Firstly we are going to do the side parts, create a new group named 'sides', inside this make a new group named 'left', from a picture (very busy - lots of different colour) take a slice 68x1px then copy and paste it into your template. Now stretch it for the full height of your template by applying Edit > Transform > Scale, move it to the left of your template. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Colour Balance, and apply these settings. Duplicate the layer 'left' and name it 'right', move this new group to the right hand side, duh, and apply Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal.

Step 2

Now for the banner, make a new group named 'banner', and in this make a new layer named 'banner bg' and make a selection 10px from the top 664x150px (keep this selection for the entire of this step). Get out the brush tool and set your colours to default, and using a soft brush, opacity at 32%, flow 50%, start brushing everywhere. Use the smudge tool, strength at 50%, and move your mouse around in big circles to get a nice effect. Put in some text (I chose Ethocentric, Regular, 30 pt, Strong, #111111. Duplicate your text layer, apply Filter > Blur > Motion Blur, Angle: 0, Distance: 50px. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Colour Balance, and apply these settings.

Step 3

Make a new layer named 'banner border' and using the Rectangular Marquee Tool, make a selection 664x10px, and fill both above and below the banner with #000000. Now 5 pixels under that make a new layer named 'links bg' 664x50px. Apply this gradient on the layer using the bucket tool, and a pattern overlay in blending options. Add some text links (I chose Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #7f7c82.

Step 4

Make a new group named 'content', new layer named 'box', make a selection of 644x500px, fill with #0a0a0a, put it under the 'links bg' layer. Zoom in lots and take a 1px outline, 1px inwards, and delete the selection. Add this outer glow. Now add some text onto the template and your done, I used the same style as the navigation links.
